Pitolisant / Wakix® Update

I thought it would be useful to provide you all with an update on where progress with patient access has reached for the new, first-in- class, medicine known as Wakix® or Pitolisant. This oral medicine acts on histamine H3 receptors in the brain, leading to the release of increased histamine, thereby enhancing wakefulness and alertness.

Welcome to our new look website

A few years ago we launched an expanded website with the ambition to bring together narcolepsy information to help all those affected. This was a big step forward, but was by no means perfect. We gathered feedback and thoughts, and for some time now we have been working hard to revamp the site to offer better access and information. What you are now seeing is the results of that work.

Hammock Diary - August 2015

I think like many of you with narcolepsy, I have been “enjoying” the high temperatures of early summer to a mixed degree. I certainly struggle with my energy when the mercury rises along with my perspiration, inability to concentrate and general irritability!

It’s certainly been great hammock weather but only in the shade as sleeping in direct sunshine turns my head very pink and I’ve found it impossible to combine both hammock and a hat. It’s much more difficult than it sounds.
