In September, four friends - Jo Collins, Robin Collins, Jan Howard and Lee Fishwick - will be taking on the South Coast Challenge to raise awareness and funds for Narcolepsy UK. The “Fab Four” will walk from Eastborne to Arundel, a distance of around 100km (~63 miles) over the course of just two days.
In May this year, Robin and Jo's 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy. Coming across the Narcolepsy UK website one evening, Jo recognised her daughter’s symptoms and this led to a referral to University College London Hospital. It is often difficult to obtain this kind of rapid diagnosis, but getting support as soon as possible after the onset of narcolepsy can make a huge difference.
To support the Fab Four and Narcolepsy UK, please visit their fundraising page and share this story as widely as possible so we can continue to support those living with narcolepsy and their families.
