Volunteers’ Week is a chance to say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
To wrap up our serise of posts marking the contribution made by volunteers to Narcolepsy UK, our Chair Matt O'Neill describes the many ways that volunteers play a part in the charity's work:
Maintaining a charity like Narcolepsy UK is entirely dependent on the assistance of volunteers.
Without people stepping forward and making themselves and their skills available to us we simply would not be able to cope with the volume of issues in which we are increasingly required to become involved.
This applies equally to all volunteers, from our Trustee Board to those of you who organise fundraising events, local meet-ups and offer advocacy services covering access to medicine, social care, education and work.
Thanks you for all you do for Narcolepsy UK – we appreciate you all!
Matt O’Neill, Chair
