Volunteers’ Week is a chance to say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
In the penultimate post in our series marking the contribution made by volunteers to Narcolepsy UK, Trustee Henry Nicholls describes the contribution made by volunteer advocates:
The public understanding of narcolepsy is better now than it ever has been, but we still have a long way to go. Those volunteers for NUK who act as advocates are playing a vital role in chipping away at the ignorance and prejudice that people with narcolepsy must still battle on a daily basis. We will get there, but not without the incredible work of our advocates. Thank you.
