Volunteers’ Week is a chance to say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
In the latest in our series of posts marking the contribution made by volunteers to Narcolepsy UK, our Volunteer Coordinator Liam Sloan describes the contribution made by volunteer Network Meeting Coordinators across the UK:
At Narcolepsy UK we host meetings all over the UK for people with narcolepsy and their families. These meetings let people talk about their condition with others with narcolepsy, providing much needed support and understanding of the struggles a person with narcolepsy faces.
These meetings would not be possible without our volunteers. We would like to thank all our Network Meeting Coordinators for the time they devote to organising and hosting these meetings – they really do have a positive impact on the people who attend.
If you would like to organise a meet-up in your area, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org; I would love to hear from you.
