Trustee – update

On behalf of everyone at Narcolepsy UK, we’d like to welcome Mike Guthrie on to the charity’s board of trustees. Mike has had narcolepsy with cataplexy since his teens, and wasn’t diagnosed until he was in his second year of university. In spite of this, Mike qualified as a lawyer and works in the Real Estate Department at the top-tier Scottish law firm Burness Paull LLP. He is currently Head of Home Sales, responsible for overseeing all of the residential sales and any associated purchases for the firm’s housebuilder clients in Scotland. He supervises teams across the firm’s three offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh and is also a tutor on the University of Edingburgh’s professional practice diploma.

In his spare time, Mike likes to run and cycle and is currently training for this year’s London Marathon on 2 October, raising money for Narcolepsy UK through his GiveasyouLive sponsorship page. If you haven’t sponsored him, please consider doing so and give as generously as you can.

Trustees are volunteers who make sure that Narcolepsy UK is run in the interests of people with narcolepsy and their supporters, and they oversee the management and administration of the charity. As Narcolepsy UK is a small organisation, trustees are also actively involved in the charity’s activities.

We hope to recruit new trustees in 2022, especially those with backgrounds in finance, marketing and communications. Please do get in touch.
