This study demonstrates a more than doubling of the rate of narcolepsy amongst Pandemrix vaccinated adults compared to unvaccinated controls. In fact, it reports more than 9 times the rate for cases diagnosed by November 2011, and more than 4 times the rate overall. This is consistent with the previous findings in Sweden Finland and France.

Our understanding is that [English] law generally requires a doubling of the rate in order to demonstrate an association consistent with a causal link.

As we have with affected children, we will now work with any affected adults with narcolepsy, their families, friends and legal representation to ensure their rights under the Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979 are fully upheld.
