Travelling with medication can present practical problems, particularly as some narcolepsy medications are controlled drugs.
Key points to bear in mind are:
- Always take enough medication to last for the full duration of your trip, but not excessive amounts
- Carry medication in its original, correctly labelled packaging
- Keep your medication in your hand baggage
- Keep your medication out of sight
- Be especially aware of restrictions applicable to Controlled Drugs
- A letter from your GP giving details of your prescription may be useful (and essential when you take Controlled Drugs out of the UK)
- Check the requirements not only of the UK, but also all other countries you will visit on your trip. A list of foreign embassies and consulates can be found here.
